Although we're currently taking a short break for the summer - at least we're not holding regular meetings, there is still a lot going on in Erwood YFC. Practices have continued for the Royal Welsh Show where Erwood Members are once again representing the Brecknock Federation in many competitions.
Lisa has been busy trying to organise the canoe trip and possible camp-out for later in August.
Of course the sponsored walk is on the horizon, we're raising funds for Cancer Research UK - the walk will take place on Wednesday 17th August. We'll meet at Llyswen School and walk along the riverside to Erwood Station Craft Centre. Sponsor forms are available to download (on the forms and documents page of this website) and more details will be circulated as they become available. Please contact Lisa if you wish to register your interest. Everyone is welcome to join in. Perhaps if we're back in Erwood early enough we'll have something to eat at The Wheelwright Arms.
If you haven't already told Lisa that you wish to canoe/camp please let her know straight away so that she can book the canoes.
The biggest piece of news of course, is the safe arrival of Ryan Jones who was born at home on 11 July 2011 - delivered by his dad. Congratulations to his proud parents Club Leader Jo Evans and Will Jones. Ryan weighed in at 6 lb. His Auntie Wendy reports mother and son are doing well and he is absolutely gorgeous! We look forward to Ryan attending YFC regularly with his mum. Rumour has it that Will is available for home births - lambs or babies - he can handle it!
